The eyes are opening...

Something odd is happening to me. I'm actually interested in things that are not directly related to what I normally do (bar business, music, tech, licensing), and going out of my way to make time to do these things. Like for example running to Mick's house in Tien Mu down a thousand steep stairs to have some dinner, then huffing it back up to the University. That's an hour and half of 160 bpms. Or planning to swim down and back the cool spring lake in Wu Lai. That's a good 4km probably. And finding out that there are a hundred 3000m peaks in Taiwan. This is absolutely remarkable. I've lived here for 16 years and never knew that. Now I have to go and climb as many as I can. Or learning what an ORTF stereo microphone configuration is and actually hearing what it sounds like, or learning how a 4K peak in presence on a Shure SM58 sounds like versus an Audio Technica 4051. Dave M suggested I should get into F1 racing since it's very technical and geeky. Maybe. All this new stuff is a lot more fun that what I've been doing.

3q2u is an acronym which if said in Chinese and Japanese sounds like "Thank you to you!" Dumb but easy to remember. More >>
