Corrupting the youth

Sometimes in my role as bartender, an educational request comes up that cannot be passed by lightly.

Last night we had a bunch of NTU students in hearing a band called "Touch." Nice kids, but not nearly as crazy as I remember being when I was a junior in college.

Female Coeds: "Can we have a tequila shot please?"
Me: "Here you go.."
F.C.: After fumbling with lemon and salt. "But how do we drink it?"
Me: "You've never done a Tequila shot before?"
F.C: "No...."
Me: "Well, I guess I will have to teach you." [Pour. Expain. Take hand. Demonstrate. Lemon. Salt.] "The rest I leave up to you."
F.C: "Gulp..." Wince, shake head, jump up and down on one foot. Grimace.
Me: "Hmmm, so you liked it?"

I never did and probably never will enjoy tequila. I had this shot once... 3 parts tequila to 1 part tabasco. The stinging rivals that of liquid cocaine.

Hmmm...now, why is it that I have sweet and wonderful memories of my first tequila shot? Hehehehe...

3q2u is an acronym which if said in Chinese and Japanese sounds like "Thank you to you!" Dumb but easy to remember. More >>
