What a crock!

Irene and I went out for dinner, and like millions of other people in Taipei, I was sitting in my car waiting at a red light. Then a few seconds later, an ambulance appears behind me honking and flashing like crazy. No one bothers at all to move out of it's way. In the US, we're taught to get the hell out of the way because it's the law. If you don't get out of the way, you are obstructing emergency workers from doing their jobs.

So without a thought, I pull forward, allowing the ambulance to pass by. And of course, I get slapped with a ticket.

Here's a nice clear photo of me, pulling out into the crosswalk to let the ambulance behind me pass.

And here's my nice clear ticket for doing that.

What a crock!

Fight it! Go down to the police station and let them know what happened. The ambulance is clearly visible in the photo.

Best 'o luck.

3q2u is an acronym which if said in Chinese and Japanese sounds like "Thank you to you!" Dumb but easy to remember. More >>
