What's your cut?

Chatting with some investment banker friends the other day, the topic drifted quickly away from small talk and gravitated to the current sorry situation here in China.

I had to ask, "So what do you guys actually do all day when there's no money flowing?"

Them: "Well, we've still got lots of stuff to analyze. We got reports, you know, visits to companies, stuff like that."

Me: "Yeah, but that doesn't make any money. You guys must be freaking out."

Then: "Well I guess you could call it that."

My guess is that we'll soon start seeing a lot of fantastically prepared reports and extensive analysis, prepared by teams of extremely smart people used to cutting million dollar deals, but now are cutting their thumbs on the copy paper.

3q2u is an acronym which if said in Chinese and Japanese sounds like "Thank you to you!" Dumb but easy to remember. More >>
