D.O.A at D-22, Beijing 1/14/09

After a week of meetings and dinners, I took Avery out to D-22 to see a more interesting side of Beijing. Chinese guys in mohawks, dreadlocks, leather, and tattoos. We chatted a bit with the owner, Michael Pettis, who Tiff had just interviewed for a Business Week profile, and celebrated the fact that tonight would be Tiff's last night out on the town as a non-father. His wife was expecting any day now. When his daughter grows up, he can tell her about his last night out with Uncle Corbett listening to middle aged Canadian punkers teach Beijing rocker wannabes in leather how to play loud, fast, and hard.

3q2u is written by Corbett Wall, and is really just a window into my quirky little world. It's also a way for me to exercise my thoughts and make random comments outside of cultural, language, or business barriers.

3q2u is an acronym which if said in Chinese and Japanese sounds like "Thank you to you!" Dumb but easy to remember. More >>
