It's refreshing when an article on China can say something meaningful and use the word "retarded" in one sentence...
Here's a good overview of the entire Chinese property market:
"Despite government efforts to stifle demand, analysts have long warned that the rampant speculation in China's property market is the result of a retarded financial system in which depositors are effectively taxed for squirreling their money away in the banking system but are given few attractive options for investment and growing their money.''
