Little sister
Once I finished the Ampeg build, I knew I was getting there. The tube thang was in my blood now, and I was possessed with a sick geek obsession to build another amp, but what?
A lot of players that came into the club had used the Fender Deluxe, and most of them complained it wasn't clean enough for them. (These were the players who couldn't really play anyway, and relied on a box filled with 8 Boss pedals for the sound). I tried to explain to them that if they explored the relationship between their guitar and the amp a bit more, they'd discover a new world of tone. But that approach fell on deaf ears [literally], so I figured I'd build Dolores a little sister, and as most little sisters I've encountered, she'd have to be hotter, have an attitude, and come in a smaller package.
I've never figured out whether it's pronounced "Moe's (like owned by one of three stooges) or Moss (like that guy out of Bonanza), but the one down the hill from me is open until 2am most days, which means that if I get out of the club early enough, I can catch the best burger in town, the muo si la bao or the Spicy Mos Burger. They have lots of jalapenos and
